12 Spa Treatments You Need for your Slumber Party!

Having a slumber party? Use some of these awesome DIY spa treatments!

1.  Lime Mint Foot Soak |
  • Combine 2 cups of Epsom salts with ½ cup baking soda and zest of one lime in a large bowl.
  • Add 3-4 drops of lime essential oil and 3-4 drops of peppermint essential oil.
  • Stir with wooden spoon to mix thoroughly. Pour the mixture into a jar or bag, and use within a few weeks.
2. Peppermint Foot Scrub |
To make the peppermint sugar scrub, soften 1/2 cup of coconut oil in the microwave for 15 seconds. Add 1 1/2 cups of granulated sugar, 2-3 teaspoons peppermint extract, 1 teaspoon vanilla and 2 drops of red food coloring (if desired). Mix everything until the color is evenly distributed.

3. Homemade Foot Balm | 
  1. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan over very low heat, stir until melted.
  2. Remove from heat and stir to combine, then add essential oils.
  3. Pour mixture into a clean 4 ounce mason jar.
  4. Massage a small amount into your feet at bedtime to moisturize.
4. DIY Edible Mud Mask 

This recipe makes enough for 3-5 face masks:
  • 2-3 Tablespoons Greek yogurt
  • 1 tsp. cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp. buttermilk
  • ¼-1/2 of a banana, mashed
  • 1 tsp. honey
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
Mix in a blender. Mask should be thick enough that it doesn't run down your face. 
Apply a layer of the mask to your face and allow it to sit for 20-30 minutes. Wash off mask with cool water, followed by a splash of cold water to close your pores.

 5. Chocolate Facial |

Helps increase hydration.

*cocoa powder/butter
*whipped cream or yogurt

Mix 1 tablespoon of melted chocolate with 1 tablespoon of thick add-ons free cream and add 1 tablespoon of liquid honey. Apply this mask on your face and neck for about 15 minutes and then, rinse it with lukewarm water.

6. DIY Berry Yogurt Mask |

Add 2 tablespoons of PLAIN yogurt  and honey in your blender. Next, mix 1/4 cup of berries, pureeing until smooth, then add lemon juice. Apply the mask to your CLEANED face with clean hands. Let mask sit for 10-15 minutes and then rinse in cold water to close pours. 

Tip | Before applying your mask, rinse your face with warm water to open your pours. 

7. Peppermint Cocoa lip balm | 
Gently melt the cocoa butter, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, and beeswax in a double boiler (or in a glass bowl set on top of a sauce pot of simmering water). Remove from heat and then stir in the peppermint essential oil. Quickly pour the melted oil into the tubes.

8. DIY Eye Soothers |
Steep two chamomile, green tea, or black tea bags in just boiled water for three minutes. Remove them from the water and place them in the fridge until cooled. Once cooled, place over your eyes for fifteen minutes and let the relaxing begin.

9. Rose Water Toner | 
Place any amount of fresh, chemical-free, rose petals in a glass bowl. For every 1 firmly packed cup of rose petals, pour 2 cups boiling water over top. Cover and steep until the liquid is completely cool. Strain into a second bowl and squeeze the liquid from the petals.

10. Citrus Facial Refresher | 

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 vitamin C tablet
  • 2 peels from lemons
  • 4 (4 oz) plastic spray bottles

  • In a small sauce pan, bring water to a boil. Add vitamin C tablet and stir until dissolved. In a medium glass bowl, add the lemon peel. Pour the hot water over the lemon peel and cover with plastic wrap. Allow to steep overnight on the counter. Pour mixture into four (4 oz.) plastic spray bottles, removing all but one piece of the lemon peel in each bottle.

    11. Vinegar Honey Hair Rinse |
    • 1 cup water
    • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
    • 1 teaspoon honey
    • 5 drops rosemary oil
    Apply to hair after cleansing with a shampoo, massage into strands and scalp, and then rinse. Do a strand test on an inconspicuous spot to see how your hair responds prior to applying all over.
    12. Last, but not least. Moisturizing Hair Treatment Mask |
    1. Take a medium-sized avocado and mash until smooth.
    2. Add in 2 tablespoons of honey and mix well.
    3. Apply to dry or slightly damp hair and leave on for 15-20 minutes.
    4. Rinse well and follow with shampoo and conditioner if desired.
